We recommend numbered pages so you can create an index, but you can also number the pages of a simple notebook. The main elements for keeping track of the books you usually read are the title, author, date read, plot, characters, personal impressions, quotes, and reviews, but as always, you can tailor it based on your preferences and therefore report what is really important for you to remember.
