Blackwing's roots date back to the 1930s, when the Model 602 was first introduced by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company. Over the years the pencil with the singular rectangular eraser has become synonymous with quality. Then, in 1998, after several corporate acquisitions, it was discontinued, but not forgotten. In fact, fans have started paying as much as $40 on eBay for a single Blackwing pencil.
In 2010 the Blackwing brand was finally reborn thanks to Palomio, a historic American company with over 100 years of experience in the pencil sector.
Blackwing pencils are different there is little you can do! Let's put aside the design, if it can be ignored, and look deeper: each pencil is made from a composition of premium Japanese graphite, clay, to give it resistance, and wax, to give it softness.
Graphite coated with California and Oregon incense cedar wood that sharpens smoothly and easily.
This is also why they are classified differently, they do not have our classic H, F and B hardness indication that we are all used to.

Those who have a passion for pencils, however, always wait with trepidation for the release of the new limited edition Blackwing Volumes (the ones that when they end, end!).

Each limited edition is dedicated to a different character, cultural, artistic movement or historical event. There have been so many in recent years and they have become real collector's items.
