The Complete Zaha Hadid
The life and work of the revolutionary architect in an updated monograph
Zaha Hadid (1950–2016) was a revolutionary architect. For years, she received widespread recognition and numerous awards despite having built very little. Some even argued that her works were simply impossible to realize. Yet, in the last years of her life, Hadid's bold visions became reality, bringing a new and distinctive architectural language to cities and structures such as the Port House in Antwerp, the Al Janoub Stadium near Doha, Qatar, and the spectacular new terminal at Beijing Capital International Airport.
By the time of her untimely death in 2016, Hadid was firmly established among the world's architectural elite, working on projects in Europe, China, the Middle East, and the United States. She was the first woman to win both the Pritzker Prize for Architecture and the prestigious RIBA Royal Gold Medal. Her longtime partner, Patrik Schumacher, now leads Zaha Hadid Architects and is responsible for many new projects.
Based on the impressive TASCHEN monograph, this volume is now available in an accessible edition that covers Hadid's entire oeuvre, including ongoing projects. Featuring extensive photographs, in-depth sketches, and drawings by Hadid herself, the book traces the evolution of her career, encompassing not only her most innovative buildings but also furniture and interior design, integrated into her unique, profoundly modern and resolutely 21st-century universe.
“A celebration of everything that is brave and bold in his work.”
— Australian Financial Review
