JOIN THE YELLOW WALLPAPER CLUB: THE NEW LITERARY EXPLORATION PROGRAM
Curated by Debora Lambruschini in collaboration with Saypaper
Have you ever wished to go beyond the last page of a book? To feel that the story continues to resonate, revealing the secrets of its structure, the potential of the text, and the hidden connections with other works? And to share your passion for reading with other readers, in an enriching exchange of perspectives, opinions, and insights?
Starting in April, a space will be created for those who are not content with just reading, but want to inhabit books. A Book Club that is also a webinar, a forum for discussion, and exclusive editorial insights.
HOW IT WORKS:
- One book per month: a carefully selected range of titles (novels, short stories, hybrid texts) to be read independently.
-
The meeting (live on Zoom): one Wednesday a month from 8 PM to 10:30 PM
We will connect for an analysis and discussion guided by Debora Lambruschini (literary critic, editor, editorial curator). Not just to say "I liked it/I didn't like it," but a true webinar to deconstruct and reconstruct the text together, grasp its layers, and reflect on narrative choices. -
The recording: Can't attend live? No problem. Each meeting is recorded and sent to registrants to be watched whenever you want.
- The Yellow Wallpaper – special edition: after each meeting, you will receive a special issue of Debora's newsletter entirely dedicated to the book of the month in your inbox. A compendium of notes, reviews, and bibliographic resources reserved only for Club members.
-
Participation fee: €25 per meeting. An investment in your development as a reader, to transform every book into an unforgettable experience.
THEMATIC PATH FIRST QUARTER: OUTSIDERS | A journey among female writers who challenged norms to invent new codes.
There are books that are not just stories, but true acts of rebellion. Writers who, inhabiting the margins of their time, were able to look where others dared not, breaking conventions to invent new worlds.
April – June 2026
The first path is dedicated to Outsiders: three female authors who challenged literary and social norms, often paying a very high price for their creative freedom.
FIRST APPOINTMENT THE YELLOW WALLPAPER CLUB
APRIL 29 | Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights
Forget the romantic idyll: we will analyze Emily Brontë's masterpiece as a radical and disturbing Gothic work. From the interlocking narrative structure (the "Chinese boxes" of unreliable narrators) to the power of a moorland that is not a backdrop, but an amoral force that devours the characters. We will explore the quintessential outsider, Heathcliff, and the writing of an author who was able to give voice to the unspeakable, challenging the moral and formal canons of Victorian England.

MAY | Mary Shelley, Frankenstein - you can participate by purchasing here
At the origins of the modern myth. We will explore the absolute outsider status of Mary Shelley and her Creature, caught between scientific ambition, authorial responsibility, and the universal desire for belonging.
JUNE | Kate Chopin, The Awakening - you can participate by purchasing here
The definitive break with domestic space. A journey into late 19th-century Louisiana to discover the story of a woman who chooses to listen to her own desires, challenging the foundations of society at the time.

Debora Lambruschini: literary critic, editor, writer, cultural event organizer, content creator, and press officer, Debora teaches writing and literature courses, specializing in English and North American culture.
She co-directs the writing and reading school Officina del racconto, collaborates with magazines including the websites criticaletteraria.org and osservatoriocattedrale.com, has conceived and coordinates a reading group and a film club, both online, and an in-person reading group. She cares for words, her own and others', in targeted writing and reading projects. And, needless to say, she has a passion for the world of stationery and cannot do without a book journal to keep track of readings, interviews, insights, and research that form the basis of her editorial work.
THE YELLOW WALLPAPER CLUB
This name, The Yellow Wallpaper, where does it come from? It's the name I chose a few years ago for my newsletter, a tribute to Charlotte Perkins Gilman's eponymous short story, to my first love (English and Anglo-American literature), and to the figure of the New Woman: "strange," dangerous, free, and unconventional women who indelibly marked the long fin de siècle in the Anglo-Saxon world. It seems perfect for this space, for this club of reading, discussion, and in-depth study, where we can break down stereotypes and challenge conventions.
We love to travel the world and bring home its beauty, stories, and values.
