Mitsubishi Pencil, a world leader in graphite pencil production since the 1960s, brings the same quality to this color line: smooth strokes, stable lead, and intense color payoff from the first pass.

The color selection is designed for those who draw landscapes, nature, or urban scenes: a balanced palette that alternates between brilliant and neutral tones, ideal for both quick sketches and more detailed work.
Like all oil-based pencils, they allow for two blending methods:

• Dry blending (optical blending): layer colors in soft gradients; the eye will perceive the fusion of tones.
• Solvent blending: Polycolor pencils are soluble in oil painting thinners like Gamsol. Simply apply the color and then a small amount of solvent with a stiff brush to achieve a more painterly and even effect.

In addition to the quality of the stroke, the design is also striking: a refined retro style, with mid-century typography and a geometric color band on the elegant metal tins.

Like almost all Mitsubishi products, Polycolor pencils are also made in Japan, and the difference is noticeable.
