Correspondence Set - Vienna 1900

This mail order set is made in the Netherlands using only FSC certified European materials.

Each box contains:

• 10 sheets of 4 different designs (printed on one side and blank on the other), for a total of 40 sheets of A5 writing paper (150x210 mm)
• 20 matching envelopes (10 x 2 designs)
• 8 greeting cards (2 x 4 designs)
• 30 assorted stickers and labels.

Sheets, envelopes and stickers can be used in combination or independently. The sheets are of excellent quality and also look beautiful when framed.

Vienna in the 1900s saw a creative shift in art and design, driven by a dynamic movement that sought to separate itself from the past to create new traditions for the future. The Secessionist Movement (founded in 1897) and the Wiener Werkstätte (1903) were made up of innovative young artists, such as Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser and Dagobert Peche.
The inspiration for this new form of design came from many sources. Nature was a particularly common theme, as was geometry and finally Japanese art which became famous following its exhibition at the Vienna World Fair in 1873.
As such, modern design in Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century became a beautiful mix of nature and geometry, of abstract and straight lines and this beautiful set of writing paper, stickers and cards is inspired by this artistic movement.
