The author
Magdalena Droste studied art history and literature in Aachen and Marburg. In 1980, she began working at the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin. Since then, she has contributed to numerous exhibitions and publications on Bauhaus artists and has written numerous essays on the Bauhaus school's textile and furniture workshops, as well as on artistic craftsmanship as a female profession.
